Welcome
"We have some amazing, articulate, and talented
young people in our district and their contribution
to shaping this new plan is something for all to be
proud of. It is so rewarding to give young people the
opportunity to broaden their influence and to have
their voices heard in the planning of Council and
partner services. We want to ensure that all children
and young people receive the support they need to
achieve their ambitions and reach their goals - and
realise it's very important that we and our partners
always listen to their views, ideas, and contributions
as part of this. We look forward to working together
over the next three years."

"I am delighted to introduce our new Children's Plan
for 2022-2025. I would like to offer my thanks to our
children and young people who have identified their
priorities, helped develop this new plan, and remain
front and centre of all our work. We have made great
progress over the last few years working to improve
the lives of children, young people, and families
living in the Wakefield district. However, we still
have work to do and believe this new plan will help
support our work over the next three years. I look
forward to working together with children and young
people, parents/carers and all partners to make this
new plan a real success."
Cllr Margaret Isherwood
Portfolio Holder, Children and Young People's Service,
Wakefield Council
"All children and young people are
important, we all have things to say about
what is important to us, how we would like
to be supported and what we want for our
future. Being involved in making this plan
has made sure that our voices are being
heard and that we all matter."
