How will the plan be delivered?
3
The Children and Young People's Plan will be owned
by the Children and Young People's Partnership
Board. Members are made up of:
• Councillors
• Senior managers from Wakefield Council and
West Yorkshire Police
• Senior managers from Housing, Health and
Education
• Senior managers from the voluntary, community
and social enterprise sectors
• And most importantly, young people
The plan has been developed with children and
young people across the district and it includes
priorities highlighted by young people with an aim to
giving children the 'Best Start in Life'. The priorities
set out within the plan are very important as they
will inform the work programme of the Partnership
Board for the next three years.
The Partnership Board will work closely with other
boards and partnerships across the district too,
including:
• Wakefield Safeguarding Children Partnership
• Health and Wellbeing Board
• Safer Together Partnership
• Wakefield and District Health and Care
Partnership
The Partnership Board will work with these boards
and partnerships to provide oversight, challenge, and
support to make sure the priorities in this plan are
delivered. This is because the work of other boards
within the district will better link to some of the
priorities. An update on the delivery of the plan will
be given at every Partnership Board. There will be
a complete update given annually at the Build Our
Future summits. This will provide an opportunity for
children and young people to directly hold partners
to account.
